Conditions and Responsibilities of the Customer

The following checklist outlines necessary preparations to be performed by the customer before any heat treatment. If these procedures are not followed, DOFFDON LLC cannot be held responsible for any injuries, damages, or re-infestation of bed bugs. Failure of DOFFDON LLC to note any deficiencies in the following preparation list does not waive the customer’s responsibility.

Air Condition , Burglar Units, and Sprinkler System (if heat sensitive):

Turn off these systems before treatment. DOFFDON LLC is not responsible for any property or damages caused by these units or similar mechanical items.

Items to Remove from the Structure

  • Aerosol cans (air fresheners, cleaning products, etc.)
  • Candles, Crayons, and other wax-based products
  • Flammables, Ammunition/black powder, Alcohol products, lighters, oxygen bottles, or other pressurized objects
  • Pets and plants
  • Loose photos and prescription medicines
  • Electrical equipment including, but not limited to:
    • Flashlights
    • Batteries
    • Musical equipment (all stringed instruments)
    • Oil paintings or other art
    • Heirlooms and irreplaceable items
  • Plastic Mini-blinds: Place in the bathtub/shower. Curtains and wooden mini-blinds can remain hanging (if mini-blinds cannot be removed, pull them up).

Heat Control Bed Bug Treatment

  • Remove Loose Papers, Newspapers, and Magazines: No clutter allowed.
  • TVs on Weak Plastic Stands: Place on the floor (wall hangings are fine).
  • Air Mattresses: Let the air out.
  • Clean Out Closets: Remove boxes and unwanted items.
  • Books and Magazines: Place in plastic tubs (preferably black and yellow tubs from Walmart or Home Depot).
  • CDs, Video Games, and Game Boards: Place in plastic tubs.

Heat Control Bed Bug Treatment

  • Loose Clothes on the Floor: Bag and take to a commercial laundromat. Dry on the highest heat setting for at least 50 minutes, then wash and dry. Place in new clean trash bags and keep sealed until after the heat treatment.
  • No Clutter: Ensure no piles of clutter, full boxes, or stacks of papers.
  • Clean Out All Closets: Floors must be visible.
  • Vacuum Cleaners: Dispose of vacuum bags if used on live bed bugs or thoroughly clean the vacuum.

Heat Control Bed Bug Treatment

  • Procedure to Vacate Home:
    • Wash and dry on high heat for 1 hour two sets of clothes for the day of treatment. Place in trash bags.
    • Take a hot shower, leaving soap in hair for 5 minutes. Wear the first set of clean clothes without sitting on furniture afterward.
    • Vacate the residence for 24 hours with only essential items (DL and cards).
    • Leave your car in the hot sun with windows rolled up to ensure bed bugs are killed. If unsure, opt for Doffdon to spray the car for $100 per car.
  • Procedures Upon Returning Home:
    • Turn on A/C.
    • Change into the second set of clean clothes and dry the current clothes on high heat for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
    • Take a hot shower and wear the second set of clothes.

Spray Treatment Checklist

  • Clean all rooms, vacuum floors, and pick up clothes from the ground, placing them in trash bags for laundering later.
  • Remove all bedding from beds for inspection.
  • Doffdon will move necessary furniture.
  • Presence is required during spraying; vacate sprayed rooms for at least 2 hours post-treatment. Do not touch mattresses until they are dry (minimum 8 hours).
  • Vacuum floors after 8 hours; avoid steam cleaning for at least 45 days.
